So...umm...I just finished watching the most bizarre little romantic comedy drama. See, my mother tends to watch Korean dramas. It's habit (or an addiction, I'm not sure), but when she finished one of her favourites, she decided to look at some of the Japanese dramas. She always gives me a plot synopsis after she watches and episode of something, so I often know the story lines of these dramas.

Thus, when she relayed the plot line of the first episode of Atashinchi no Danshi (roughly translated as 'The House of my Sons', I had to watch it. It is...well...odd. I've never actually seen the first episode, even now that I'm finished it, but I'll do my best to relay the basic story for your benefit.

SO, this bizarre 11 episode romantic comedy is about this poor girl whose father has racked up 100 million yen in debt. Now, she is being chased by debt collectors (she was a cosigner on the loan?). One day, the debt collectors catch up to her and demand she pays it right then and there. Out of bloody nowhere, this man wearing a cape appears on a helicopter (or was it a blimp?) and pays the debt. Then he is all "NOW YOU OWE ME THE 100 MILLION" and he offers her a contract.

She can either pay it back here and now...
Or she can be his wife for a month ('cause he is going to die in a month).

So, she agrees to be his wife and spends a month with him in his castle (which is like that house in the xxxHolic movie...with all the traps and mixed up hallways?). Then he dies. So, she is sure she is free...In which we then learn there is more to the contract...
And more...
And more...
Like, this small fact she now is the mother to his six adopted sons who are spoiled rich brats that hate both her, and hated their father.

Thus, now she must take care of a little kid who is constantly bullied, a shut-in, a model who is afraid of girls, a host, a guy in a biker gang, and an angsty artist.
(They range from about 10 to 30 years old)

I instantly loved the model. My mother's comment toward him was "He looks (and acts) like Michael Jackson!" and he does...He's really creepy, and hilarious. >:3 (The shut-in was also an instant favourite, but the model was more amusing.)

Though, I really did like all the other characters...
SO! It is a romance, but I do implore you to give it a chance. It's so ridiculous, that you end up just laughing at it...Be it at the cheesy sound effects or something else. It brightened my day. C:

Other than that, while I'm on romance, I've been watching Romeo x Juliet. Which is really quite stunning visually. I've seen so many takes on Romeo and Juliet, so this one is an odd breath of fresh air. Floating City...Dragon-Horse-Things. Romeo and Juliet pretty much swapped places. XD In fact, Romeo is all shy and sweet. So damn refreshing. And I really love the fact that William Shakespeare is one of the characters.
The dubbing is sort of awkward though...the voices sound fine. The cast is great...but the way they tie in Old English...it sounds funny. o.o;; It's not there completely, but enough so that I don't know what to make of it.

Just...awkward.

OH! And we bought the next D.Gray-Man boxset...which starts off with filler episodes, so I've been making fun of it a lot. "Help! I'm stuck in the ice and only have this useless hammer to help me escape. Oh nooo. Save me Allen."

Actually, my mother and I have made a habit of making fun of almost everything that Lavi does...because he is a very stupid character most of the time.
Very Stupid.
In two episodes I've managed to mock Lavi doing something that could have been done ages ago, Kanda's magical jumping from nothing, Allen's not wearing of his hood when he had one, Lavi's gay lines, the Akuma that shot white stuff from it's boobs, Lavi and Kanda's inability to defeat a level one Akuma, the revealing of special abilities in a filler episode (that makes my mom go 'WAIT, WUTT?', the healing of Allen's eye, the uselessness of Allen's eye, the way the Bookman just disappears, the forgetting to animate things, Lavi's gravity defying scarf, Bookman's wind-defying hair, and more of Lavi's gay lines/actions.

That was two episodes...I blame the filler...Ahhh...I rather enjoyed those two episodes.

On a completely different note...I lost my Pokemon cards. I don't know why this upsets me so much, but it does. Shiny Charizard, you shall be missed.
